A VAR system similar to football is coming to Formula 1

President of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), Mohammed Ben Sulayem, made an official statement following the investigation into the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix events. The veteran executive announced a change in the Formula 1 race management structure.

It has been announced that a “Virtual Racing Control Room” will be created, similar to the VAR system. This unit, which will be located in one of the FIA ​​offices, will communicate in real time with the race director using the most modern technological tools to ensure the correct implementation of the rules.

Radio conversations will not be broadcast on TV

Apart from that, teams and F1 race officials to protect the race director from pressure and allow him to make a calm decision. Radio conversations between the two will no longer be broadcast live on television. The FIA ​​made these new decisions after the controversial ending of last season’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
