Udemy, one of the largest online education platforms in the world, became the focus of reactions due to a course on the platform the other day. On the platform where experts in many categories provide training, ‘weather science’ courses created by an instructor who introduced himself as a ‘weather expert’ were discovered.

The trainer, who gave training under a name named Neyzen Nar, without giving his real name, promised his students ‘skills’ such as ‘making the demon talk, saving the haunted person’ with courses ranging in length from 1-5 hours. With the spread of reactions from Ekşi Sözlük and Twitter, Udemy realized the situation and took the necessary action.

Courses and instructor’s ‘Instructor’ tag removed:

Udemy has removed all aerial science instructor courses from the platform. When asked to access the page where the course is located, the page says “Unfortunately, this course is no longer accepting registrations. If you have previously registered for this course, please log in to access the course.” error started popping up. However, the page of the instructor giving the course has also changed.

All trainers who normally teach on Udemy have the ‘Instructor’ tag along with their name and surname on their profiles, while the Instructor tag on Neyzen Nar’s account has been removed. In addition, the sections showing the total number of students and the number of comments belonging to the instructor were removed, and only the text in which he mentioned himself remained on the page.

It is not known how these courses were published. Udemy’s Prohibited Topics list lists ‘Unscientific theories’ as an example of such content under the heading ‘Content that may mislead or mislead.
