Tesla in trouble due to a fatal accident
20-year-old Nicholas Garcia and 19-year-old passenger Jazmin Alcala, the car went off the road and crashed into two trees. He died last September as a result of the vehicle catching fire after the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board conducted the investigation into the Tesla accident.
According to the report from the board, it was revealed that the 20-year-old driver drove 150 kilometers per hour on the road where the speed limit was 48 kilometers per hour before the accident. However, in the lawsuit, Garcia’s family said the Tesla Model 3 “caused loss of control in ordinary and predictable driving conditions. He claimed it had “faulty and unreasonably dangerous suspension.”
Garcia’s family also sued the manager of the Tesla store regarding the accident. The family said that they brought their Model 3 vehicles for inspection four days before the accident due to the steering, suspension and battery. The family accused the service manager of “negligently inspecting or failing to inspect the vehicle due to the emergence of defects and dangerous conditions”.
Tesla company and service manager Garcia’s family are each facing a $30,000 lawsuit. The company has not yet made a statement regarding the fatal accident case. In the published police report, it was stated that the vehicle “lost control” after entering the accident in the middle of the road.
