Binance Smart Chain has been renamed to BNB Chain.
Leading crypto-asset trading platform Binance’s blockchain, Binance Smart Chain, has changed its name to BNB Chain. In a statement on the subject, BNB Chain Ecosystem Coordinator Samy Karim said that BNB went beyond Binance and the BNB ecosystem was larger than Binance and surpassed Binance in terms of usage areas.
Karim also told The Block that BNB is not an acronym, “Build and Build”. ” he added. Binance CEO CZ also made such a tweet a week ago. Karim said in a statement:
“BNB Chain will embrace large-scale applications including GameFi, SocialFi and Metaverse. In particular, it will enable one-chain-to-multichain scaling, improve scaling solutions and expand BSC’s validator set from 21 to 41.”
In the statement, it was stated that removing the Binance name will give BNB Chain more opportunity and freedom. In addition, a new concept called MetaFi was created by combining Meta (metadata) and Fi (DeFi). The BNB Chain community plans to build infrastructure for various projects under one roof, including GameFi, SocialFi, Web 3.0 and NFTs via MetaFi.
