Nowadays when you like someone’s story on Instagram, to reflect your feeling, Instagram only allows us to send a private message or a quick emoticon with the story. But Instagram’s President Adam Mosseri, who shared a post last night, announced that they brought a new option to these options, much easier.

The President of Instagram announced that there will now be a small heart option next to the option to send a message when viewing a story. When you click on this option, you will like the story as if you liked a post. The person who shared the story will not receive any notification about this like.

Instagram President’s announcement was as follows:

The new feature will look like this:

Beyond The user sharing the side will have the option to view who liked his story. For this, the user will come to the page of those who viewed his story. Users viewing and liking the story on this page will have a small heart mark next to them. On the other hand, how many people liked the story will not be displayed directly on the story.

Instagram President Adam Mosseri explained the reasoning behind this feature as follows:

“The purpose here is to get people to support each other more, but also to clean up the private messages a little bit. I said on New Year’s that texting was a priority for us, and a big part of that is focusing on messages between you and those you care about.”

The feature is slowly rolling out to all Instagram users starting today.
