Tesla CEO Elon Musk asked, “Should I sell 10% of my Tesla shares,” in a poll he started on Twitter last November. he had asked a question. The answer from this survey was mostly ‘Yes’. Financial information shared by Tesla shortly after the survey showed that Musk sold $5 billion worth of Tesla shares during the survey week.
But new documents made public today by the US Securities and Exchange Commission showed that Elon Musk sold and ‘donated’ a total of 5 million 44 thousand Tesla shares between November 19 and November 29. According to the calculation made by Bloomberg, the total value of Tesla shares according to the days of sale was $ 5.7 billion.
Donation made after discussion ‘$6 billion plays a big role in solving hunger’
16 Nov – “You asked for a clean plan and open account. Here it is! We are ready to talk to you and anyone else who is serious about saving lives.” Afterwards, “$6.6 billion is needed to prevent hunger in 2022”
No information is provided about where Elon Musk donated Tesla shares. But just before these donations began, Elon Musk had a verbal exchange with David Beasley, Director of the World Food Program on Twitter. The controversy fueled by CNN’s misplaced headline was that $6 billion in cash would help the world’s hunger a great deal.
Elon Musk made a post on Beasley’s statement, ‘Explain how it will happen, let me sell my Tesla shares and do it immediately’. On top of that, Beasley shared the plan on November 16 that shows exactly how the $6 billion will be spent. Therefore, the first possibility that came to mind was that the $5 billion donation that emerged today and started on November 19th went to the World Food Programme.
The World Food Program, or Tesla, on the other hand, refused to answer questions about this donation. On the other hand, Elon Musk’s own foundation, the Musk Foundation, is also available as an option.
