Tesla CEO Elon Musk has signaled that Starlink, the satellite constellation built to provide satellite internet access, may begin accepting the largest meme token Dogecoin.
Musk responded to such a request from the community with a winking face emoji.
Starlink is a project that aims to provide internet access to all corners of the world. The company currently has about 2,000 operational satellites. The service costs $99 per month in addition to paying $499 for the hardware kit.
Musk had significantly increased the price of the cryptocurrency by allowing some of Tesla’s products to be purchased with Dogecoin. Musk first announced his plan in December.
Last March, Tesla enabled Bitcoin payments, but later discontinued them due to environmental concerns.
Dogecoin Begins to Take Place in the Top 10 Again
Meanwhile, Dogecoin has started to take place in the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization according to CoinMarketCap data. The meme token is up 0.36% at the time of writing, trading at $0.1451.
