Central Bank Governor György Matolcsy stated the following in the statement on the Central Bank’s website:

“China has declared all cryptocurrency activities illegal in the past months . The Central Bank of Russia has proposed a ban on mining and trading of cryptocurrencies. I agree with this suggestion. I also support the opinion of the top EU financial regulator that the EU should ban the mining method used to produce Bitcoin. It is clear that cryptocurrencies can serve illegal activities and tend to form financial pyramids. The EU must act together to prevent the formation of new financial pyramids and financial bubbles.”

The Land of Satoshi Statue

As it is known, a statue of Satoshi Nakamoto, known as the creator of Bitcoin, was erected in Budapest, Hungary last year.

The highly acclaimed sculpture has a reflective surface where everyone can see its own reflection when standing in front of it. This was done to reinforce the idea that “we are all Satoshi”. András Györfi, who initiated the project, also believes that it is not Nakamoto’s identity that matters. According to Györfi, the unknown hero has opened a new page in internet history.
