Tennessee has introduced a bill that would allow the state to invest in cryptoassets and NFTs.
State MP Jason Powell has introduced a bill that would allow the state to invest in cryptoassets and NFTs. According to Powell, crypto-friendly laws will help attract more businesses to the state. He also told CoinDesk that state lawmakers need to act fast so that Tennessee does not fall behind in crypto technology, adding:
“I represent Nashville… We are a dynamic, growing city and have everything to do with technology. I want to make sure we foster a positive environment for everything, and I have great faith in blockchain technology.”
Powell also said that crypto-friendly laws could encourage more companies to open stores in the state:
“I’m hopeful because I know my fellow lawmakers want to maintain Tennessee’s leading position and are part of our ecosystem We do everything we can to create a professional work environment that encourages companies that want to become… Something that many people—many of my colleagues—do not understand. But at the end of the day, it’s a struggle I will continue. I hope we can make it happen, but if we don’t, we will continue to fight and continue to push laws to promote blockchain technology in the state of Tennessee.”
