Mazda shared a clue video about the new SUV model CX-60, which will be offered for sale in Europe. It has been announced that the 2022 Mazda CX-60, which will have a rechargeable hybrid (PHEV) system, will be officially introduced on March 8.
The new CX-60 is one of four SUV models the Japanese manufacturer will launch in 2022 and 2023, and will be the company’s first PHEV model in Europe. Before this video, photos revealing the design of the new SUV were leaked. When we look at the shared official video, we see that the design details are compatible with the photos.
The new CX-60 PHEV will deliver 300 horsepower
The lighting in the front of the 2022 Mazda CX-60 draws attention. Because we see that the LED daytime running lights pass through the thick frame and extend into the grille. There is a glossy black frame around the louver. We can see the triangular air intakes on the edges of the bumper, which is also in harmony with the photographs. The silhouette of the vehicle is not much different from other Mazda models.
The new CX-60 will feature a PHEV system combining an electric motor and a 2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol unit. There is no official information yet, except that this combination will offer a total of 300 horsepower. On the other hand, it would not be wrong to think that the PHEV version will be all-wheel drive. Other options under the hood will be the new Skyactiv-X and Skyactiv-D units with 48V mild hybrid support.
In Europe, the new Mazda CX-60 will be followed by the three-row CX-80. In North America, however, a larger duo, the CX-70 and CX-90 models, will be released. These four models will go on sale in 2022 and 2023, expanding Mazda’s global SUV range.
