Tesla had to remove a part of some of its vehicles to deal with the chip crisis

According to the news served by CNBC, Tesla has decided to remove one of the two electronic control units in the steering systems of some Model 3 and Model Y cars produced in China in order to meet its fourth quarter sales targets and mitigate the negative effects of the semiconductor supply shortage.

In the published report, it was stated that Tesla did not inform customers about this change regarding tens of thousands of electric vehicles produced at the Shanghai factory and shipped to China, Australia, England, Germany and other countries. It is not yet clear whether the company will make similar changes in electric vehicles manufactured in the USA.

Ford also stopped production at 8 factories
