Last year, regulations were made for income tracking of social media phenomena. It was required to include a “product promotion” description in advertisement posts. With the new regulation, influencers must receive their income through a bank account and their taxes must be automatically deducted from these bank accounts.
The advertisements made by a social media phenomenon were counted as advertisements by the Board of Advertisement. According to the news of TRT Haber, the phenomenon was fined 114 thousand liras.

That’s why social media influencers should pay attention and take this as a warning. “There is a regulation about depositing payments into a bank account and automatically deducting taxes from there. After all, if you are making a promotional advertisement for a consumer, you have to give the message that it is an advertisement.”
