Dell has unveiled a pair of new 4K UltraSharp display monitors that deliver 35 percent deeper blacks than existing IPS displays. At this point, the devices benefited from LG Display’s IPS Black technology. While that was the main feature, it was also the least interesting aspect of the 27-inch U2723QE and 32-inch U3223QE displays.
Both models include a six-port USB 3.2 Gen 2 USB hub. The main USB-C upstream port provides 90 Watts of power over USB-PD as well as supports DP 1.4 sub-mode. The USB hub also works in KVM mode, which is on high-end displays these days.
Dell 4K UltraSharp features
The single downstream USB 3.2 Gen 2 port was limited to just 15W. There’s also a second USB 3.2 Gen 2 upstream port for USB data signals only. Traditional display inputs include a 2.0 type HDMI and a DP 1.4 input. Finally, there’s RJ45 and 3.5mm audio output for a docked laptop’s wired network.
Although the monitor covers 100 percent of sRGB, it offers a 60 Hz refresh rate. In addition, it comes with a 2000:1 contrast ratio. Looking beyond the IPS Black technology, the display panel itself is pretty bad. The response time of the device was rated as 8ms. Still, it looks ideal considering this isn’t a gaming monitor.
The standard power consumption is 25.9 W for the 27-inch model, reaching 29.4 W for the 32-inch version. Both models can draw up to 220 W while powering multiple USB devices. When we come to the price issue, the U2723QE comes up with a fee of $ 779.99. The U3223QE launches at $1,149.99.
