Like last year, Netflix will release at least one movie per week in 2022. There are currently over 70 movies on the list for this year, and the company gave us a sneak peek at some of them with a teaser.
The three-minute video features footage from upcoming movies, including a first look at Knives Out 2, the sequel to Rian Johnson’s awesome 2019 comedy-mystery film. Enola Holmes 2, the fantasy movie Slumberland starring Jason Momoa, and Pinocchio from Guillermo del Toro immediately attract attention. The video also features Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo’s big-budget thriller The Gray Man.
We expect to see Dev Patel’s directorial debut on Netflix sometime in 2022, alongside projects from filmmakers such as Judd Apatow, Noah Baumbach, Niki Caro, Sally El Hosaini, Louis Leterrier, Richard Linklater and Tyler Perry. Netflix’s planned films include sci-fi movies starring Halle Berry (The Mothership) and Adam Sandler (Spaceman) and a new version of Matilda.
As always, this year’s list features a wide variety of choices, including action, comedy, drama, horror and family movies.
