Dying Light, which made a worldwide impact with its first game and is especially popular with its parkour mechanics and action, will meet with all players tomorrow with its second game. While the expectations about the new game, which will be released under the name Dying Light 2 Stay Human, are at a high level thanks to the first game, the critic scores that will give an idea of how these expectations will be met were shared today.
The world’s leading game critics, who had the chance to play the game before its release, shared their comments and scores for Dying Light 2. If we interpret the comments and scores of the critics in general terms, it would not be wrong to say that the game is one click below the expectations. Even some platforms that we know especially for giving high scores to AAA games gave the game not that high scores. Let’s take a look at the reviews and ratings from the critics:
Dying Light 2 review scores:
IGN – 7/10
Known for giving high ratings to almost every game, IGN gave Dying Light 2 a score of 7 out of 10. IGN editor Travis Northup gave a big warning in his article. Northup, who liked the game in general, said, “If you have a low tolerance for mistakes, I recommend you not to dive into Dying Light 2 from the first day, maybe the tenth, maybe the thirtieth day,” and explained that the game is flawed in many points.
IGN gave 7 points to Battlefield 2042, the last game to debut with a fiasco.
Gamespot – 6/10
Another giant review platform, Gamespot, awarded 6 for Dying Light 2, a lower score than IGN. Gamespot editor Mark Delaney stated that the game retained the parkour element, which was its biggest feature of its ancestor, but the story and characters made even this element unbearable. One of Gamespot’s complaints was the same as IGN’s, mistakes.
Gamespot gave Battlefield 2042 7 points.
PCGamer – 84/100
PCGamer, who is a master(!) in giving high ratings to games, also awarded a low score for Dying Light 2, considering its reviews of AAA games. PCGamer editor Christopher Livingston again talked about mistakes while stating that the game has a really huge world. He also announced that he runs the game at high settings at an average of 80-90 FPS with a computer with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 graphics card and 16 GB of RAM.
PCGamer gave Battlefield 2042 80 points.
Metacritic, which brings together reviews from around the world: 79/100
Metacritic, where the average score is calculated based on all the criticisms made around the world, is a relatively more objective platform. When we look at the criticisms collected on the platform, we see that the critics who gave the game high points did not mention the mistakes in the game. On the other hand, those who give low scores to the game especially complain about the story and mistakes.
Battlefield 2042’s Metascore is currently at 68.
