A former Amazon employee admitted to earning income by selling items he stole from the company’s warehouse. Douglas Wright, 27, was found to have stolen computer parts worth over $273 thousand.
Up to 20 years in prison
Wright, head of operations at Amazon’s Charlotte warehouse, admitted to stealing computer parts such as hard drives, processors and graphics processing units between June 2020 and September 2021. Wright, who took the stolen goods home, said that he later sold these products to a wholesale computer company in California.
Wright faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. A date has not yet been set for the court.
This is not the first time Amazon has encountered such situations. Last October, it was revealed that a person who returned the expensive products he bought from Amozan for 5 years and sent cheaper products instead defrauded the company for over 290 thousand dollars.
