Software giant Google brings a new design update to the Gmail application, which has millions of active users. With the new change, the company, which aims to quickly navigate between Chat, Spaces and Meet applications on Gmail, will add a new application column containing shortcut icons to the left side of the classic Gmail interface.

The new update, which will allow the conversations in the Chat and Space section to be displayed on a single screen for easier navigation and faster interaction, will also display notification bubbles to increase the attention of users. According to the information on Google’s Workspace updates page, the new change will be active for all Gmail users as of February 8.
However, users who are not satisfied with the change will be able to return to the classic view from the settings section of Gmail. Saying that the new design will become the standard in the second quarter of 2022, Google plans to leave the classic design behind as of April.
