DICE didn’t get off to a good start with Battlefield 2042. As player numbers continue to drop, the studio has also had to roll out multiple bugfix updates. Now, senior producer of the development team, Ryan McArthur, has published a new blog post detailing the steps the studio has taken to fix problems and improve the experience.
According to the article, the next update to the game will feature a redesigned leaderboard. The studio is also working on implementing “legacy features” such as in-game voice communication support and career overview profile page. A clearer, tighter roster cycle, improving team play, ping system improvements, and a better reward system are also on the table.
It is certain that innovations can put the game on track a little bit. However, to continue focusing on improvements, Battlefield 2042 Season One is no longer coming in March and looks like it’s been delayed to the summer months. McArthur says of the delay: “This decision gives us time to focus on improving the Battlefield 2042 experience and complete the development process to ensure our seasonal content meets our quality standards.”
