A final release date has been announced for Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons, the third expansion of the fantasy MMORPG game released for PC by ArenaNet in 2012. Accordingly, End of Dragons will be officially released on February 28 at a price of $29.99.
The expansion will take Guild Wars 2 players to the Cantha region, which was first introduced in Guild Wars: Factions. On their journey, players will discover the secrets behind the mysterious substance known as dragonjade and its ability to power the unique technology of the Canthan civilization.
New horizontal progression options for the game include the addition of fishing, skiffs (multiplayer sailing ships for groups of five players), while the game’s first shared battle mount, the siege turtle, will provide new gameplay possibilities for traversing and fighting with a friend. Large-scale, open-world events will return across the game’s lush new map areas, in addition to nine new exclusive specializations that change the core gameplay of each of Guild Wars 2’s professions. This will provide replayability to the game.
In addition to new gameplay possibilities, a brand new story will take players on an epic adventure across the continent. New characters will join the cast of Guild Wars 2, which will shed light on some of the oldest mysteries surrounding Tyria’s elder dragons.
