Valve has tested more than 100 games that will work with Steam Deck. Out of a total of 106 games to run, 60 have been confirmed to have the highest compatibility, meaning the controller configuration and glyphs will match, the interface is legible and performance is good.
It is also among the information that there are 41 more games that can be played. So depending on the game, the game will need some tweaking for it to work as intended. 5 games are not supported, but 4 of them seem to be VR games that naturally do not work on Steam Deck.
It is not possible to find the games tested on Steam’s website. Instead, you should check out this fan-curated list from SteamDB. The most notable games among the confirmed ones are Death Standing, Portal 2, Dark Souls 2 and 3, as well as popular games such as Cuphead and Celeste.
Steam Deck will first begin shipping to those who place first pre-orders on February 25. The game console runs an AMD Zen-based quad-core CPU and uses a GPU based on AMD’s RDNA 2 architecture with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of PCIe NVMe storage. A 7-inch touchscreen with an aspect ratio of 16:10 is used for games, and games optimized for Steam Deck will be designed for a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. The device runs Valve’s Steam OS 3.0 based on Arch Linux, which supports games designed for Windows.
