MediaTek targets 39 percent share

MediaTek, which finished 2021 as a leader in front of Qualcomm, has now caught its eye. In the first quarter of the year, the company plans to further widen the gap with its rival. Dimensity 9000 will play an important role in this.

MediaTek, which took the lead in the mobile chip market with the effect of the Dimensity series last year, generated a total revenue of 17.6 billion dollars and experienced a 53 percent growth. The company, which increased its operating profit for the first time for 4 consecutive quarters, received the return of its investments in 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and low power management circuits.

The company, which earned $ 4.6 billion in revenue in the last quarter of last year, experienced a slight regression on the smartphone side, but saw growth in the Internet of Things and other segments. However, it grew by 33.5 percent on a yearly basis.

The company’s plans for the new year are bigger. Aiming to increase its quarterly revenues to around $5 billion, the company’s overall revenue expectation for the year has also increased to $20 billion. In addition, the company’s market share expectation has increased to 39 percent. Qualcomm is expected to remain at 29%.
