Render images of Renault Austral appeared: It will replace Kadjar

The French automaker, which has published teaser images of the new Austral many times before, recently shared images of the interior of the vehicle.

Renault Austral will differ markedly from the Kadjar model, including its name. Austral comes from the Latin australis meaning “south”. In appearance, the Renault Austral resembles the new electric Megane, launched in September of 2021. The vehicle will be built on the CMF-C/D architecture, but will be slightly larger in size than both the Qashqai and Kadjar.

Engine options

It is reported that Renault Austral will not have a diesel option and will only be offered with a hybrid engine. Buyers will be able to choose between 1.3 TCe units with 12 volt mild hybrid support and 1.2 TCe units with 48 volt mild hybrid technology. According to the company, the new engines will stand out with their low CO2 emissions and will offer up to 200 horsepower. Renault Austral is expected to be introduced in the spring. The exact date is yet to be determined.
