End-to-end encryption is coming to Messenger
The addition of end-to-end encryption to the platform was first discussed in 2016. The company gave the message that this feature will come at the event it organized. However, at the end of the 6 years that have passed, we may encounter a development. Although it is sad that the long-awaited feature has not come to Messenger for years, this gap is finally being completed. The feature, which has been tested by a small user base for a while, will become public in the next few days.
Messages won’t be the only things included in end-to-end encryption, including stickers and GIFs. In order for the conversations to remain extremely confidential, this duo was not missing.
How does end-to-end encryption work?
The messages you sent in Messenger until today could be viewed when malicious people infiltrated your network. This meant that many of the things you wanted to keep were for others to see. With end-to-end encryption, your messages are sent as complex as a password, not as you type. Then, in the application of the receiving party, this code is decoded and displayed according to an algorithm.
Although you may not notice anything during this process, the contribution to your privacy is actually great. When end-to-end encryption is activated in Messenger, your messages will not be viewed by anyone, including your internet provider.
