Continuing to invest in different technology areas, Apple plans to launch a new mixed reality headset soon. Making statements about AR and VR technologies, Apple CEO Tim Cook stated that they have approximately 14,000 applications in the VR and AR categories in the App Store, and this number will increase as the investments increase.
The new title will be released in 2023
As it is known, AR technology, which can offer changes on the real world, unlike VR (Virtual Reality) technology, which brings the user to a completely virtual environment, has made a great impact recently, especially with Metaverse. On the questions asked in the metaverse area, Cook said, “We see a lot of potential in this area and we are investing accordingly.”
While the mixed reality headset signed by Apple was eagerly awaited by users, the new device, which was expected to be released in 2022, was postponed to 2023. Stating that the research and development team continues to work on this issue, the CEO said that large investments have been made in technologies that are not available in the market.
