The Chinese market has so far been a fierce competitive field for all electronics manufacturers. Due to the high population and the large size of the cake, and the fact that the upper segment sales held a small share of the cake due to economic conditions, Apple was almost sweating against its rivals such as Huawei and Xiaomi.

However, the latest reports show that Apple has achieved a rising success in China with the iPhone 12 and iPhone 11 series, especially the iPhone 13 family introduced last year. In fact, the company has achieved record-breaking sales this year.

Apple fills the gap left by Huawei

According to the emerging data, Apple has left behind giants such as Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi and Huawei in its own field. The Chinese market was formerly dominated by Huawei. However, the company has experienced a huge decline in the last few years that it has not been able to prevent. In fact, we see that it fell to the sixth place in the 4th quarter of 2021.

Of course, this is not the first time Apple has experienced this situation. The iPhone 6 Plus model, introduced by the company in 2014, had a great impact in Asian markets as it was a long-awaited large-screen iPhone. The US manufacturer had until then refused to scale up its screens, although phablets were the obvious future trend, especially in Asia.

When the iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus were released, they became the new crazy trend in China. In fact, it has become such that some retailers are combining the iPhone 6 Plus with free tailoring services to expand the pockets of their pants.

So at the height of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s craze, Apple (in 2015) was the top smartphone brand in China. But in the later period, the leadership seat was taken by Vivo and immediately after by Huawei. But six years later, the company returned to the market almost as if it took revenge, reaching its historical high of 23 percent.

According to Counterpoint’s report, Apple rose to the top as soon as the iPhone 13 series was released. It also held the top spot for most of Q4 2021. The reasons for the insane success came as a result of a perfect storm that Huawei customers jumped ship from. However, the company’s good pricing policy and 5G and new camera lenses are said to have a large share in this situation.
