KRAFTON, Inc. announced that it will host the first official NEW STATE MOBILE esports event in Korea between February 5-19. With a prize pool of more than $250,000, the NEW STATE MOBILE Open Challenge will present the largest prize in the history of the country for an amateur esports event. During this event, players will play the new BR: Extreme mode of NEW STATE MOBILE, which is part of the game’s major January update and was released worldwide on Android and iOS last week.
NEW STATE MOBILE Open Challenge is KRAFTON’s first esports event planned for NEW STATE MOBILE in 2022, with plans to hold more global events in the future. The goal of all upcoming events is to continue supporting the game’s community of talented players who enjoy intense, competitive and unique battle royale gameplay. Exclusive to the NEW STATE MOBILE Open Challenge, only players in Korea who earned Gold Tier or higher in Season 1, which started earlier this month, will participate in the event. Eligible players can apply HERE until February 2 to attend the event.
NEW STATE MOBILE BR: About Extreme Mode:
Exclusive to the game, BR: Extreme Mod is a new mod that enhances the mobile battle royale experience. BR: Extreme mode limits the number of players in a match to 64 (compared to BR: Original mode with 100 players) and 20 minutes per match. BR: Extreme Mod, which is currently available on the game’s Troi map, in accordance with the battle royale genre; however, it is designed to get players into the action as quickly as possible for more increased intensity with each match. In this mode, the battlefield is limited to a small playable area (4×4) that will be randomly selected on the Troi map and will change each match. All players start with a P1911 pistol, a smoke grenade, 300 Drone credits, and fully charged boost meters. When the match starts, two Relief Packs will drop at random locations, allowing players to stock up on high-end equipment earlier in a match.
NEW STATE MOBILE Open Challenge Schedule and Structure:
The event will be held both online and offline for all eligible players in Korea who are at least 15 years old. The current program is as follows:
- 5, 6, 12, 13 February: Online Open Qualifiers
- Feb 15-18: Group Stage (offline at IVEX Studio in Gwang-Myeong, South Korea)
- February 19: Grand Finals (offline at IVEX Studio in Gwang-Myeong, South Korea)
Eight teams of four players will compete in the game’s new BR: Extreme mode in each match. NEW STATE MOBILE Open Challenge will also leverage components of the Standard and Universal PUBG Esports Ruleset (SUPER) used by PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, where the final ranking is determined by both game “rank points” and “score points”.
