Volvo sold 190,000 electric cars in 2021!
Volvo shared its data for 2021. According to the shared data, the famous automaker sold 698,693 cars despite the difficulties experienced due to the chip crisis. 189,216 of these sales are electric cars. Sales figures are 5.6 percent higher than in 2020. This shows that the company was able to manage the crisis well despite the difficulties experienced in 2021.
When we look at these sales in detail, we see that the sub-brand of the company, Recharge, also contributed greatly to these sales. Volvo sold 23,845 plug-in hybrid cars in December of 2021. This figure is 22 percent higher than in December 2020.
According to published reports, 40 percent of the company’s sales in December consist of electric cars. 7.4 percent of this rate belongs to purely electric cars. Recharge cars account for 60% of total sales in the European market, while Recharge models account for 30% of sales in the US.
When we look at the sales figures of 2021, we see that 189,216 electric cars were sold. About 25,000 of these cars are the company’s new all-electric cars, the XC40 and C40. This sales figure is 64 percent higher than the sales figure of 2020. This shows us that the electric car market is growing day by day.
