Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer gives the green light for Call of Duty
If the purchase takes place, there is still no clear information about exactly which platforms the newest Call of Duty games will come to. But Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer made an important statement that the series has a future on Sony platforms.

In his post on Twitter, Spencer said:
We had good conversations with the leaders at Sony this week. After acquiring Activision Blizzard, I confirmed our intention to honor all existing agreements and our desire to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation. Sony is an important part of our industry and we value our relationship.
That statement leaves some space for Call of Duty to still be an Xbox-exclusive franchise. Because earlier, Microsoft has shown its willingness to turn its acquisitions into exclusive products when it said that it will release Bethesda Softworks’ upcoming game Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI exclusively on Xbox and PC.
This approach will help strengthen the Game Pass subscription service. But that may not be what Spencer wants to do with Call of Duty. Because the company had previously decided to maintain multi-platform support for some of its productions. For example, Minecraft continues to be available on many different platforms, years after it acquired Mojang.
