Despite factors such as the global chip crisis and pandemic, Apple left its mark with its sales in the fourth quarter of 2021. More than one-fifth of smartphone sales in the industry were signed by iPhone models.
In this period, the company reached a market share of 22% and surpassed Samsung, which had 20%, to become the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer. According to Canalys researchers, the iPhone 13 series, which debuted in September, has a large share in the company’s success.
Apple has shown the same success in the Chinese market. The company has become the largest smartphone manufacturer in the country for six consecutive weeks. Although it was occasionally demoted by Vivo, its closest follower, in this process, it has generally managed to become the best-selling brand in the country since November last year.
Another detail that draws attention in the data announced by Canalys is the decrease in market share despite the fact that Apple is at the top. Because the market share of the company in the same period of last year was 23 percent.
Apart from this, in the fourth quarter of 2021, Apple and Samsung in the second place were followed by Xiaomi with 12 percent, OPPO with 9 percent and vivo with 8 percent.
