Samsung, which is among the largest manufacturers of the smartphone market, is in a great struggle with Apple on the tablet side. The company, which produces its own screens, processors and cameras, is struggling to get a share from its US competitor in the sector, despite all its advantages. However, Samsung intends to change the situation with the Galaxy Tab S8 family that it will introduce soon.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 may come without a charging adapter!
Samsung will try to increase its presence in the industry with 3 new models that it plans to release this year. The naming of the devices, which will be called Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+ and Tab S8 Ultra, will go in parallel with the flagship smartphones.
But not all of the leaks about the device are positive. The latest report that has emerged says the Tab S8 series will only have cables in its boxes. So there will be no adapter for charging. Therefore, people who want to use the 45W fast charging feature will have to purchase it by paying an additional fee.
This whole “no charger in the box” trend was started by Apple with the iPhone 12 series. The argument was that people don’t really need a new one as there are already so many chargers around. In addition, reducing the boxes by removing adapters to cause less waste also meant less transportation costs.
But it was quite surprising that even Apple only applies this process for their phones, while Samsung will do it on tablets as well. Because people don’t change tablets or computers as often as their phones. In addition, even many high-end smartphones of Samsung do not yet have 45W support.
When this is the case, the person who buys the tablet will also need to buy an adapter. But what does not make sense in this movement is that it is done in the name of respect for the environment. Yes, phone cases take up less space, contain plastic and save fuel. But aren’t these adapters also carried in their own boxes?
So many people say it’s a way for brands to subsidize rising prices in technology in the name of environmentalism. Apple has similarly removed the 5W adapter out of the box. But the devices support 20W. Therefore, there is no one left using that adapter.
However, the company can get wireless MagSafes or fast charging adapters if they wish. Or if you have an iPad or MacBook, you can use its adapter, he says. It seems relatively more logical than what Samsung did. Because he doesn’t tell you to use or buy the low-Watt adapter of the phone he sells on your laptop or tablet. Fortunately, this issue still remains unclear. Let’s hope companies don’t slowly start removing adapters from all their devices.
