Xbox CEO Phil Spencer aims to create a multi-network program where Microsoft’s bans applicable to Xbox can be carried over to other companies’ networks. Thus, he stated that he wanted to help get rid of malicious people in the online gaming environment.

Speaking to the New York Times, Spencer acknowledged that this would be difficult to achieve. She said she hopes to see him one day though.

As an alternative, Spencer stated that it will adopt a system that allows players to bring their banned usernames on another platform. In summary, what Spencer aims at here is not to allow the player banned on one platform to be allowed on other platforms.

At this point, for example, someone banned from PUBG cannot enter the CS:GO game. This allows malicious players to be kept away from platforms. Spencer said on the subject:

“I would love to bring them to other networks where I play. So this is the group of people I choose not to play with. Because I don’t want to see these people on every platform where I play a game.

Activision also has a multi-platform ban strategy in Call of Duty games. Activision accounts of players found to be cheating or behaving badly are banned from platforms, even if they have never played. If the event Spencer implied happens, many companies will develop a system that is close to each other. At this point, it is unknown how the situation between Xbox and PlayStation will develop. The truth, though, is that Xbox wants to establish a close bond with other game studios.
