Robert Kalina, who has been the designer of banknotes that have been in circulation for a while, made some statements on the subject. The designer said that it would not be a good idea to have Özlem Türeci and Uğur Şahin on the banknotes. So why?

Stating that he also prefers architectural structures instead of names, the designer stated that names such as Beethoven or Mozart can be used on banknotes since they cannot be associated with a single country, but such a situation will not be the case for Özlem Türeci and Uğur Şahin.
