For the third year in a row, the giant game fair E3 will not take place with physical participation. The event will once again be held online, in the shadow of COVID-19 cases originating from Omicron.

“Due to the ongoing health risks around the COVID-19 axis and its potential impact on attendees’ safety, E3 will not be held in-person in 2022. Still, we’re excited about the future of E3 and more details soon,” the Entertainment Software Association told GamesBeat. We look forward to the announcement.”

ESA canceled the 2020 event of E3 when the pandemic first felt its effect in the USA. Last year, however, E3 took place online only.

Earlier this week, the Sundance Film Festival also announced that there would be no face-to-face events. The Grammy Awards, which will also take place this month, have been postponed indefinitely. Although the CES show was held with an in-person event in Las Vegas this week, CSA had decided to end the show a day early.
