RTÜK drew the reaction of a part of the public especially with the decisions it took in the past periods and made statements in this direction. RTÜK, which made a very important statement about “news and productions with violent content” last week, also set the agenda with the news of Hasan Can Kaya. Kaya, who presented the program called Talkanlar, broadcast on the Exxen platform by Acun Ilıcalı, was under scrutiny by RTÜK and later made a statement about these events. RTÜK signed the last of its bans the other day.
Now the site with all the world’s radios is blocked:
RTÜK comes up with another issue once again. According to the information conveyed by the project called DisabledWeb, created by the Freedom of Expression Association, the website called Radio Garden, which offers the opportunity to listen to all the radios in the world for free, was blocked by RTÜK because it did not have the ‘necessary licenses’. As a matter of fact, RTÜK had warned about this beforehand.
Radio Garden, which was found to be broadcasting without a license on December 13, 2021, was warned and stated that it should be closed within 72 hours if it did not pay the license fee. After a period of about three weeks, on January 4, 2022, it was officially announced that the access to the website was blocked with the decree numbered 2022/136 of the Ankara 2nd Criminal Court of Peace.
