Jeff Ross, the producer of Days Gone, one of the most important recent productions of the Sony PlayStation brand, left Sony in 2020 after disagreements with the company. Ross announced that he refused a remake of a famous PlayStation 1 game.

Sony wanted to bring back the Siphon Filter series

Although it received serious criticism when it was released in 2019, Days Gone, developed by Bend Studio, has recovered somewhat with the patches and improvements that have come in the meantime. Sony had also released the production to the PC platform via Steam in order to reduce the costs of the production and to relax economically.

The executive producer of the game and former Sony employee Jeff Ross admitted in an interview that the famous Japanese company was not at all satisfied with the final version of the game. Ross said he wanted to improve Days Gone 2 and had a conversation with Sony on the subject. However, he stated that this idea was dead from the very beginning and could not get approval from Sony’s senior management.

Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow

However, Ross decided to leave Sony by rejecting this offer. .

Stating that he had previously worked on several third-person action games while under Sony Bend, Ross explained that he had no idea how to bring the Siphon Filter series back, so he was not interested in the proposal.
