The virtual reality title PlayStation VR, which Sony released exclusively for the PlayStation 4 platform, exceeded sales expectations and made the Japanese company happy. The latest figures for the title were that a total of 5 million units were sold in January of 2020. Although Sony has not made an official statement about the next generation PlayStation VR, it is said that PlayStation VR 2 production will start in the near future.

Although there is no official announcement from Sony about the next generation virtual reality device, new information about PSVR 2 continues to reach us.
Finally, it was said that the device will come with an integrated headset, including the PS5’s new generation audio technology 3D Audio, without the need for any in-ear or on-ear headphones. However, it was stated that it will be launched with a mostly black design, which will include cross, triangle, square and circle patterns on both the console and DualSense.
Sony showed the controllers that PSVR 2 will use in 2021 and said that more news will be shared in 2022. It is already known that PSVR 2 is currently in development. However, sources close to the Sony front show that the Japanese company, which is known to not want to experience the production problem experienced in PS5 again, is about to start the production of the device already.
A Chinese supply chain source claimed that the company will work with Goertek, with which it previously partnered in PSVR production, for PSVR 2, and that the preparations have already begun in the company’s factories. The same source expects PSVR 2, which will be released for PS5, to launch in Q4 of 2022.
