Environment, Urban Planning and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum stated that metal, glass and plastic bottles will be included in the system as a priority under the Zero Waste project, and noted that this practice will increase recycling rates.
We have to say that such measures are very important in these days when the effects of climate change, which swept the world, are seriously increasing. This system, which aims to reduce the damage to the environment by ensuring that people get paid for the products they return, has started as of today.
Those who collect deposit fees will be considered as ‘debtors’, citizens who pay the fee will be considered as ‘creditors’
With the start of 2022, the Deposit System, which plans to reduce environmental pollution, has been activated for packages produced using paper, glass, plastic and metal. According to the statements, people who pay a deposit fee for the product they bought under this system will get their deposit back when they return the product.
In addition, it was among the news that those who will put their products on the market with the specified returnable packages will determine an implementation plan by establishing a deposit system and submit this plan to the approval of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. In addition, financial records will be kept in the deposit application, thanks to these records, those who receive deposit fees will be considered as debtors, while citizens who pay deposit fees will be considered creditors.
The fees determined within the scope of the deposit application are as follows:
Metal Packing:
- Beverage packages: 4. 3 Kurus
Glass Packaging:
- Beverage packages (up to 0.25 liters): 1. 48 kuruş
- Beverage packages (0.2501-0.5 liters): 2.8 kuruş
- Beverage packages (0,501-1 liter): 4. 3 cents
- Beverage packages (between 1.01 -5 liters): 7 kurus
- Beverage packages (5,01 liters and above): 14. 8 cents
Composite Packaging:
- Paper-cardboard weighted composite beverage packaging (up to 0.25 liters): 1. 48 kuruş
- Paper-cardboard weighted composite beverage packaging (0.2501- 0.5 liters): 2.8 kuruş
- Paper-cardboard weighted composite beverage packaging (0.501 liters and over): 5.8 kurus
If Plastic Packaging:
- Beverage packages (up to 0.33 liters): 1. 48 kuruş
- Beverage packages (0.3301-0.75 liters): 2.8 kuruş
- Beverage packages (0.7501-1,5 liters): 4. 3 cents
- Beverage packages (0.501 liters and above): 5.8 cents
