TechRadar Pro conducted a private survey of 500 respondents that showed some details about what email services people use and how they are used. Unsurprisingly, Gmail tops that list.

We can say that a lot of people absolutely hate email, and for good reason. Clients, especially default clients like Apple Mail, often run quite slowly and are intended for casual users rather than advanced users at work.

Also, a bunch of other systems, including Slack and Teams, have sprung up to meet business-specific chat needs, and even Meta has taken action with Workplace.

According to the survey, we can say that the most prominent e-mail service is Gmail and its closest competitor is not even close. 59% of respondents use Google’s email offerings, followed by Outlook (19.7%), Yahoo (13%), iCloud (2.9%), and others (5%).

Most people (75.6%) have between one and 10,000 emails in their inbox, followed by 16%. 75% have between 10,001 and 100,000 emails and then 7%. A portion of 59 have 100,001 or more emails.

We face a similar scenario for email storage: Just over half (50.2%) of respondents don’t know or care how full their inbox is. The rest of their inboxes have up to 5GB full (32.8%) or over 5GB (17%) full.
