The Netflix series Arcane, set in the legendary game League of Legends (LoL) universe, is followed with interest by the audience. Not only the players, but also many viewers are waiting for the second season of the series.
In the animated series, which received great acclaim from the audience, the characters Jinx and Vi turned into stars. The creators of Arcane explained why Jinx and Vi have become so popular.
“Contrasting characters attract attention”
In the animated series Arcane, which takes place in Runeterra, the world of the popular game LoL developed by Riot Games, the opposite life stories of two LoL champions named Jinx and Vi are told. Although Jinx and Vi are enemies, they are actually brothers. However, it stays in the background in this series. While Vi’s short and pink hair, Jink’s long and blue hair can be considered one of the simplest demonstrations of the differences between these siblings. While Vi is a strong and strict enforcer working for the city of Piltover; Jinx is literally anarchist. Their disparate, opposing personalities allow both sisters to engage in fierce competition.
Arcane creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee talked about why Jink and Vi are so popular, saying: “It’s interesting no matter what scene these two characters from different perspectives are in together or what they’re discussing in what place. “Looking at Jinx and Vi’s shared history, a mysterious question may come to mind. If they’re sisters, why do they hate each other so much? The producer of the series, Yee, stated that they managed to attract the attention of the audience based on this question in Arcane. He stated that throughout the story, Jinx and Vi focus on the origin story and keep their relationship mysterious.
Linke underlined that the characters have the freedom to express themselves and that it is very effective to bring this to the screens with a unique visual style.
