If you are using a relatively new smartphone, you probably received an update that supports artificial intelligence in the last 12 months or you have purchased a device with these features. Although technologies such as Apple Intelligence, Galaxy AI and Google Gemini are met with great interest in the latest phones, how much users benefit from these features is an important question mark. Fortunately, a survey conducted by Sellcell sheds light on this question.
Sellcell’s survey between more than 2,000 smartphone users examined the experiences of people with artificial intelligence -supported phones. According to the survey, 73 %of iPhone users and 87 %of Galaxy users think that artificial intelligence adds little value to the use of telephone use. These results show that AI technology has a lower effect for users than expected.
The questionnaire only includes users of the iPhone 15 Pro and later or the Galaxy S22 and later models. Although the total number of participants is not clearly specified, more than 1,000 people have been received from each platform.
Another finding in the survey is that users are reluctant to pay for subscription to artificial intelligence services. 86.5 %of iPhone users and 94.5 %of Galaxy users will refuse to pay for access to AI features, he said. This is more remarkable especially for Galaxy users; Because the Galaxy S25 Series offers Gemini Advanced for six months free, most users do not intend to renew the subscription after this period. Apple announced that it has not yet planned to offer Apple Intelligence as a paid service.
The research also reveals that artificial intelligence has a limited impact on users’ platform changes decisions. According to the survey, 16.8 %of iPhone users say that they can switch to Galaxy for better artificial intelligence features, while only 9.7 %of Galaxy users can consider switching to iPhone.
