The new generation mobile network service 5G, which has 10 times the data transmission rate of the fourth generation mobile telecommunications service, was started to be used in China in 2019. It is said that the mobile network service, which started to be used in different countries over time with the development of infrastructures, will be used in our country as of 2023.

While we are waiting for 5G technology to be used in our country, a statement came from China about the date when 6G will be commercialized and will be used by citizens. In 2030, China will take its mobile operating system to the next level and start using 6G technology.

China switches to 6G technology in 10 years

China had been a leader in 5G communication network research and development. However, 5G technology will not be enough, as the commercialization efforts for 6G technology continue without slowing down. Wang Jianzhou, the consultant of the Global Mobile Communication Association, made the opening speech at the 2021 Technology Billboard Conference held in the past days. In his speech, Wang Jianzhou said, “While we were building 5G, the 6G work had already begun. By 2030, the 6G communication network will be commercially available. Now we need to accelerate the definition, research and development of 6G,” he said.

The mobile communication capabilities of 5G technology had brought unprecedented advances. However, the evolution of technology is endless, and 5G needs improvements at two levels, 5.5G and 6G. 6G network technology; It will be superior to 5G with the highest speed, latency, traffic density, spectrum efficiency and many more features. Consultant Jianzhou stated that the design of 6G network architecture compared to 5G will also take into account the impact of hardware and algorithms on energy consumption.
