In addition, it was emphasized that more people should be vaccinated and that efforts to vaccinate low-income countries should be increased.

In addition, with this decision, the number of vaccines approved by WHO has increased to 9. The Geneva-based organization first approved the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine in December 2020. Apart from this, AstraZeneca has also approved vaccines such as Moderna, Jannsen, Sinopharm and Sinovac. In addition, WHO announced at the beginning of last November that it had given emergency use approval for an Indian vaccine called Covaxin.
