Twitter, which has made a name for itself in its recent changes, was working on a TikTok-style vertical scrolling feed. In order to make the platform more inclusive and usable, the company has been working on a new feature for a long time. This application seems very useful especially for hearing impaired individuals.
Twitter will automatically create captions on its videos
Twitter is preparing an application that is very useful especially for hearing-impaired individuals. It brings automatic subtitle support to the platform, as in Youtube, in video content. This feature will be available on Android, iOS and the platform’s website.
Subtitle support, no extra opening tab on Android and iOS devices. Thus, this feature will continue to work even if it is muted while the video is playing automatically. However, there will be a new CC button on the platform’s web address, which allows to turn it on or off at will during autoplay.
The subtitle support feature is still under development. It is stated that this feature will have support for more than 30 languages, including English, Chinese, Spanish, Japanese and more. Automatic subtitles on videos will be created in the language of the region where they were first uploaded. However, there is no option to translate subtitles into languages yet.
