Pinterest has been working on some innovations lately to get out of a painting format and catch up with social media applications. A panel design that separates the videos people share with the photos on the homepage is also among the expectations.

Now with the feature it brings, it will be possible to add videos while replying to posts. Pinterest, the newest social media app to bring this feature, is working to provide a better experience. Here are the details of the new feature…

Pinterest allows adding videos to replies

This feature will be available through Idea Pins. Idea Pins is a feature introduced earlier this year that allows creators to save and edit up to 20 pages of content using tools like audio recording, background music, transitions, and other interactive elements.

You will now be able to see the “Reply with Idea Pin” option from the three-dot menu above the video you want to reply to. You can take a new instant video or upload a video you have on your device there.

The launch of Pinterest’s new feature came just days after Instagram introduced a similar feature. Instagram added the “Reels Visual Responses” feature to its Reels videos last week. Thus, the company gave the opportunity to respond to Reels videos with another video.

However, before Instagram, this feature was first available on TikTok. After TikTok offered the ability to reply to posts via video last year, the feature gained a lot of attention. In this vein, it’s no surprise that Pinterest and Instagram are also pursuing the short video app.

It seems like Pinterest is aiming to increase competition with TikTok ever since it bought Vochi and brought in some rewards that will encourage creators. But the company’s job will not be easy, as the competition between social media is a bit intense.

What do you think about this feature brought by Pinterest after TikTok and Instagram?
