Apple’s iPhone 13 sales in this period went quite well.
iPhone 13 puts Apple in second place
Samsung sold 69.4 million smartphones in the third quarter of 2021, holding 21 percent of the market. Its arch-rival Apple followed soon after. The US technology giant recorded a growth of 14 percent by shipping 49 million iPhones. Thus, Samsung became the first and Apple the second largest phone maker.
On the other hand, in the third place of the list was Xiaomi, which sold 44 million phones but experienced a 7 percent decline. It was followed by OPPO (36.7 million) and Vivo (34.2 million), both with 11 percent market share.

According to analysts’ estimates, the 14 percent growth that Apple achieved in the third quarter of 2021 was thanks to the sales of the iPhone 13. It was also stated that the company plans to increase iPhone shipments to 170 million by the first quarter of next year, and that it needs to grow by 30 percent in order to reach this target.
“The iPhone 13 is off to a strong start,” said Le Xuan Chiew, Canalys Research Analyst. Saying that pre-orders are high and Apple is using retail stores more to increase sales unlike last year, Le Xuan Chiew said, “For customers with an iPhone that is two or three years old, the iPhone 13 series offers better camera, battery life and of course 5G. proved to be a convincing upgrade. ” he said.
