The Veilguard, the latest game of Dragon Age, one of the popular series in the gaming world, is on the agenda with an unexpected development, although it was met with great acclaim. BioWare has announced that it has no plans to develop a story-focused expansion pack (DLC) for The Veilguard. In this context, the studio started working on the new Mass Effect game.
New Mass Effect comes into play instead of Dragon Age: The Veilguard
BioWare has announced that it is not planning a major story expansion pack (DLC) for Dragon Age: The Veilguard. John Epler, the game’s creative director, said that they avoided developing DLC for the role-playing game. However, the studio plans to support The Veilguard with minor updates and a few content packs.
This development actually runs counter to BioWare’s development strategy. The studio has previously offered DLC packs such as Trespasser for Dragon Age: Inquisition and The Citadel for Mass Effect 3. According to John Epler, BioWare’s entire focus is on the new Mass Effect game currently in development.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which heralds our return to BioWare’s legendary world of Thedas, reached an average score of 84 on the PS5 platform and 80 on the PC on Metacritic. Although these scores cannot reach the 91 points of the first game of the series, Origins on PC and the 89 points of Inquisition on PS4, they are well above the studio’s latest productions, Mass Effect: Andromeda 72/100 and Anthem’s 59/100.
The lack of any expansion pack for The Veilguard seems to be disappointing for those who want to experience more adventures in the world of Dragon Age. But it’s exciting to hear that the company is finally developing a new Mass Effect game after many years.
