Instagram is bringing an important feature to DMs to make it easier for creators to keep track of incoming messages.
With the new update, which will make DMs more manageable, new sorting and filtering features will be added to DMs in the application. Thanks to these features, users will be able to focus only on the messages that are important to them by sorting their message requests according to certain criteria.
Messages can be sorted according to many different filters
The new tool offered by Instagram allows you to filter incoming message requests according to criteria such as the number of followers, whether the account is verified or not, and individual or corporate account. This will allow creators to respond to important messages faster without missing business opportunities or potential collaborations.
Instagram president Adam Mosseri made a statement on his social media account about the background of this change. Mosseri stated that content creators often lose control of their DMs and this puts them in a difficult situation, and that they have been working on such a feature for a while so that users can only access certain messages.
Story replies will also have a separate tab in DMs
Additionally, a special “Story Responses” tab will be added to DMs to facilitate access to story responses. This new tab will collect replies from users who responded directly to your stories under one tab.
Following the feature of separating WhatsApp conversations by creating special lists, which is available on WhatsApp as of today, this feature that Instagram also brought to DMs is similar in many respects.
