Google Maps’ advanced navigation will make city driving easier. These new features, available in November, will highlight the correct lane for upcoming turns and show important elements like crosswalks and signs.
Google Maps’ blue line will visually show drivers which lane they should be in for the next turn.
Google Maps, new artificial intelligence features are coming
The new feature will be available in 30 US metro areas on Android and iOS platforms. Thus, Google Maps’ navigation features such as existing lane guidance and 3D route visualization will be further improved and driving stress will be reduced.
Google Maps is also updating the “destination guidance” feature it introduced in July. With this update, in addition to highlighting your destination and building entrance, the app will also show nearby parking lots, parking reminders, and walking directions to the building’s front door. Google Maps is also expanding its system for reporting adverse weather conditions such as low visibility, fog, snow and floods.
Google Maps is adding more AI features to help find new places. Waze, on the other hand, is testing a feature that allows reporting events by voice.
