Boston Dynamics continues to achieve impressive results with its smart robots. The company shared its latest achievements in the field of robotics by sharing a new video of its humanoid Atlas robot.
The robot, which previously attracted attention with its impressive mobility, shows in the new video how it performs its assigned task in a factory environment using machine learning and updated sensors.
While moving engine covers between “designated supplier warehouses and a mobile sorting vehicle” might not seem like a very impressive task, this video is a pretty effective example of illustrating the different capabilities of the new robot. After simply giving the robot “a list of warehouse locations to move parts to,” Atlas began moving its limbs and machine parts in impressive fashion, using its various sensors and machine learning algorithms. In fact, Atlas, who makes a mistake at one point in the video, realizes his mistake and immediately makes the necessary corrections, showing his ability in case of a mistake.
As the “Fully Autonomous” sign in the video emphasizes, Boston Dynamics demonstrates that its latest humanoid robot can accomplish complex tasks with minimal human intervention.
