Confirms satellite connectivity feature of Galaxy S24 series
As you know, Samsung announced 5G modem technology, which allows direct communication between phones and satellites, earlier this year, and it was stated that the feature would be used first in the Galaxy S23 series. However, we saw that this did not happen. Current rumors have turned the arrows towards the Galaxy S24 series.
Recently, Sammobile shared some screenshots from the Galaxy S24 series. In this image, we see that the “Emergency messages via satellite” feature is included. If you call emergency services when you are out of range or not connected to a mobile network, we will connect you via a satellite. This way, you can send an emergency message.
Details such as which countries the feature will be available in are still unclear. If we remember, satellite connection support first appeared in the iPhone 14 series and is currently only available in 17 countries. Therefore, we may encounter a similar situation in the Galaxy S24 series. So it may initially be limited to certain countries. However, all the details will be waiting for us at the Galaxy Unpacked event on January 17.
